Rotax 503 UL Manufacture date (Rob Seaton)

Hi Rob,
We was searching for a while a way to sent you a private message but unfortunately we cant find the way to do that.
We have recently bought the engine from an unknown ownmer and we want to know the engine manufacture date.
Type: 503
SN: 7838885

Hi Alfredo,
Cant do it: the database says that s/n is not an aircraft engine and I cannot access the snowmobile engine database.
I am not a 2-stroke expert but as an accident investigator I would not use it for an aircraft as the power curve for a snowmobile engine is wrong for an propeller aircraft; just when you really need power (go-around) the snowmobile engine will be low on its power curve and will not give you the power you need. Very bad (maybe fatal) situation to be in.
This is not a smart way to save money.

Ron, Many thanks for your fast answer.
I think we wrongly wrote that serial number becasue as you may know here in Colombia we dont have any snow vehicles. That enine should be taken from an ultralight, maybe a quicksilver or simmilar.
Here in the attachments we take a picture of the serial plackard and a general view of the Engine.
