Rotax 447 date of manufacture and TBO times

Hi all,

May i have the date of manufacture, TBO times and engine type for a Rotes 582 SN 4172054 please.
Could you thinks that a 582 could run without issu and maintenance for 480 hours ? It seams that no work has been done on this engine ?

7241859 was manufactured 19-Mar-2010

Engine Serial Number: 7241859
Engine Type: ROTAX 582 UL Mod.99
Model Number: 395820020

The TBO interval of all 582 engines is 5 years or 300 hours.
(see the current 2-stroke Maintenance Manual page 10-2)

I do not show a 'gearbox' with the serial 05.0916 listed ... is that the serial number taken directly off the 'gear set'? (where did you find that serial number?)

6913280 is not found in the factory database. We searched the North American distributors paper archives, and that serial number doesn't exist in there, either. The paper archives show a gap between about 67xxxxx and 70xxxxx. So, we suspect it might not actually an aircraft 582, but rather a snowmobile engine. (Highly not recommended for aircraft applications, due to a completely different torque curve...)

Can you make out a model number stamped on the serial number plate? Another possibility is that the engine is an older 582, but it originated from one of the European ROTAX distributors...

Please, I have the same doubt regarding my 582 SN 7241985 and gearbox type C SN 08.0027 and what the reduction of it. Thank you very much

7241985 was produced 15-Sep-2010

All that we can see about it is that it was originally configured as

Engine Type: ROTAX 582 UL Mod.99
Model Number: 395820020

The database holds no information on that gearbox serial number.
Cannot tell you the installed gear ratio, you will have to open it up and count the teeth on the gearset.
Also, you can check the gearbox case for stampings - if the gearset was changed from original during the course of maintenance, the tech should have marked it with the new gear ratio.

The factory engine database is still undergoing maintenance. We're hoping it will be back online tomorrow (18-Jan) and we'll be able to do engine lookups then...
