That doesn’t look like any 912UL I’ve ever seen. I’d check into what engine that reallly is.

I also looked at another Kitfox with a 912. it has sn4152213. in 1/2024 all cylinders were 78/80 -195 hrs

at 113 hrs had cylinder #4 replaced. no explanation in logs

    latest readings are 76/73/76/74

    oil analysis showed elevated copper

    Concerning original question:

Based solely on my limited experience of purchasing a Zenith with a 912UL about 10 years and 2 owners after completion. Also, according to the engine log, a total time of less than 200 hours. Engine would not start when hot; could not keep carbs balanced; re-mounted new ignition boxes and oil temp sensor off engine

    ignition boxes replaced

    overhaul kits for both carbs

    new carb floats - blue

    new oil temperature sensor

There is some reason that the airplane has not flown for so long. Also, apparently electronic and carb components deteriorate over time without use.

All of those hoses will have to be replaced - 5yr. Life

I hold a Mechanic Cert.-A&P, but this was my first experience with a Rotax. I bought the plane from an A/I, but he obviously was not restricted by the truth or by concern for the safety of others. I trusted an A/I who had a vested interest in the deal. I knew better, but ?????

Now 4 years since purchase, the Rotax can be trusted to restart after a fuel stop and runs like a top.
