Parts manual show this screw with no washer or loctite.
MMH says see MML. MML says see IM. IM does not mention plug screw. Is the torque setting the same as the banjo bolt. 30nm? Should it have loctite?

    I don't know anyone that removes the plug on the bottom of the engine. It is listed at 35nm or 26 ft/lbs and no washer. Once they have the oil return line in place with the banjo bolt on the bottom no one messes with it anymore.
    If you can't find a torque you can look in the Parts manual. The magnetic oil plug screw and the oil pressure plug screw do not get washers and they are listed at 25nm or 19 ft/lbs.

    You're not draining oil during a oil change from here are you?

    Hi Roger. I am replacing my ul to uls. Uls is from a pusher, so need to swap oil return position. Once installed neither will be accessible so want to do it right.

    Current manuals do not show torque value for plug screw, or loctite and show washers on banjo and torque value of 30nm.

    Manuals from 2013 do not show torque value for plug screw but do show loctite 243 used. Also shows loctite and washers used on banjo and torque value of 35nm.

    At first glance new parts manuals do not show loctite used on parts like the old parts manuals did. You now have to read all the text in the MMH, MML, or IM to find if it is used. Rotax seem to have mist out the plug screw in the IM.

    Hi Jerry,
    Look in the Parts Manual. The plug screw doesn't get a washer, but the Banjo bolts do.
    Depending on what the procedure is the Line maint. manual may have a torque value for everyday stuff, i.e. spark plugs. If you are doing Heavy work it may be in the Heavy Manual and many times you can find it in the parts manual. The Banjo bolt on the bottom gets safety wired.

    Will be using loctite 243 as specified in 2013. Will torque as banjo bolt to 30nm as specified in 2017.

    Any tips for removing the coolant pipes from bottom of cylinder heads 2 and 4. Manual says heat to 120c. Loctite 648 will still be solid at that temp.
