Those older type-plates used to be bi-lingual ! The "MK-TW" has nothing to do with the engine model, it's actually a contraction of some german phrase than means "engine type" (Nobody here remembers exactly what it was, but you can imagine it was something like 'Motterenkonfiggur-Typewassen'!) ?

So essentially...

912 UL MK-TW

is the German language equivalent to 

TYPE 912 UL
