I have a brand new airplane (CGS Hawk - Arrow II) with the 80 HP Rotax 912.   As the plane has NOT been flown YET (Waiting on paperwork), I have only taxied it around our airport community.  I am NOT able to get the idle RPMs below 4,500.  I have tried adjusting the throttle by backing out the screws all the way at both carbs and it still idles at 4,500.

As I am new to the Rotax ownership, is there some advice anyone has to give?

I would remove the air filters and look in to see if the butterfly valves are closed when the throttle is closed. You should be able to work out what is going on from there.

    Michael,

I would start by carefuly read and understand the Insllation Manual

    https://www.rotax-owner.com/pdf/IM_912_Series_Ed3_R0.pdf

in your picture, the 'choke' is partially activated , and the cable adjuster could be screwed in to correct that.

the air filter ( K&N ) looks dry, it should be 'oiled' .

Do a mechanical carburetor synchronization, and  after a pneumatic ...it,s all in the manual

    I agree with Jacques.

The chokes are on and the filter doesn't look oiled. Use the proper K&N oil and don't over oil them. If the idle stop screws are backed out of the circuit and the cables are adjusted properly then pulling the throttle back all the way should shut the engine down.

Fix the chokes and do your mechanical sync and pneumatic sync like Jacques said.

It looks like I have some HOMEWORK tomorrow.

I truly do appreciate the advice from all of you.

I do not have the K&N Oil, so I am ordering it tonight.  How much K&N should be ON the filters?  Does it go on the outside, at the seal, or ???

You can see my knowledge is that of a beginner with this Rotax engine.
