BUDS Dongle

Hi Folks

Fairly new here. Just order my 912iS engine from Van’s about a month ago so I have a little wait time. I am scheduled for my first RMT course Service next month and planning on taking at least Service and Maintenance.

Curious about BUDS dongles. I heard from an unreliable source that they are sold in levels and you can only buy the level you are certified for. Can someone explain more about this if it is true?

All you really need is a level 2

Your unreliable source turned out to be pretty reliable:

(No such thing as a Level 1 dongle)

Level 2 (Anyone can purchase) for general information download

Level 3 (Rotax Distributors or Rotax Service Centers ONLY) Provides more details and information on engine

Level 4 (Rotax Distributors or Rotax factory ONLY) Change engine S/N & type, clear data, etc.
