Hello everyone,
I just found out how missinformed I wast about the rave sytem and it's use,
I was told that RAVE was to be used on high density altidutes only, But I now I been told that RAVE is to be used at all times,Maybe that it can be a part of my red warning light on my engine system, Bill?? and anyone else any knowledge or advice on this?? Iam still waiting the 2 main jets to arrive to test fly with see level settings.
Regards

    Yanis,

The RAVE should be in operation all the time. Biggest problem with them was sticking from exhaust and oil residue.

Go to www.ultralightnews.ca/618parts/ravevalve. There is a good article there on how this device works and how to maintain it. (be sure the website is .ca and not .com)

Thank you Bill I appreciate the link I am geting educated,
From now on When I start the engine will be a regular procedure to activate the rave, Is it a system that once it is on the on position will automaticaly change base on the RPM SETING? or I have to do this by gratually changing the settings with the rave lever?, As I report previousl I never use that system and I hope I did not damage anything, motor has under 40 hours on and I do use SEAFOAM EVERY OTHER FILLUP, Is there a way to check if the system works and is not stuck? If I open the covers and avtivate the rave lever while the motor is not runing will I be able to tell if it is working or not? I beleive that when I get it going now with the rave will be like having a different motor, I did notice in many occassions IN THE PAST while flying was hasitating to keep on going now I know why, As for the red warning light any time it came on it was just seconts as I immediately reduce the throtle and the light went off rightaway,
Please let me know when you have the chance I am very exited about it.
    Regards

    Yanis,

I haven't had much experience wih the RAVE valve, but I seem to remember that the adjustment screw on top was screwed in all the way unless you are operating at very high altitudes. If the RAVE is working properly it is all automatic and you don't have to do anything to it. It is a simple device and all you have to do is pull the top off and make sure bellows doesn't have any cracks or holes in it and everything is clean and moves up and down easily.

I hope someone with more experience than me on the RAVE will share their knowledge.

    Bill.
