Hi everybody! Seems there is little info about the injection pump.Mine in a 503 (200 hrs) runs flawlessly since the install. However I found out that the nylon shaft has the teeth worn out so I will change it.The internal gear seems OK.How's about the pump itself...How long do they last? What should I check ???Is it a pump that we throw away after so many hours ??? Whenever I had to remove it,I lockwire the arm to maximum and start the engine (MAGS OFF!!!) and I see oil coming out at the carbs...I would like to know if it did fail on one of you guys ,what part did fail and what was the consequences...and any symptoms that happened before...also, besides calibrating the oil tank and measure the oil level and fuel consumption...any simple way to check the pump integrity ???
Thanks for the replies...

These injection pumps run flawlessly for MANY hours. There is no maintenance requirements other then making sure its correctly set up. IF it fails for any particular reason (stripped nylon gear) your engine will seize due to lack of oil. HOWEVER, I have not come across too many that have failed and its not something that should bother you too much (rare occurrence)
These pumps are a throw away item but not at any particular time limit. If you see oil leaking out of them (at the top) then its time to replace with new as you can't rebuild them.

    Hope this helps!
