The engine has given me good reliable service but I am in the process of replacing everything rubber, plastic etc in the engine to be safe and I have two questions:
1.- I am replacing the plastic gear/shaft in the oil pump drive. Don't mean to sound cheap but what grease could I use instead of the $70 rotax white lithium grease (of which I will need a little dab). I know the type of grease is critical but just wondered if people know of appropriate alternatives found in the US.
2.- I installed new ignition wires. When I screwed them into the coils and spark plug caps, they went in but didn't get tight. In fact there was no resistance to rotation as the wire reached the bottom. I could see that they were screwing in as I rotated and then it would reach a point where the cable wouldn't go in more, but it still rotated freely. A slight tug confirmed something is holding but it is a little disconcerting. That happened to all the wires but one which seemed to tighten a little.
again thanks for the help.
