hello .. I have a 582 blue head 0 hours, I have doubts about the reliability of the oil pump (autolub). Better to use it? or mix the oil directly into the fuel? Engine and peripherals are brand new!

Thank you very much.

From my experience the new engine in first 25~50 hours I will use oil pump(Autolub)+ some oil mix into the fuel(1:200), aftre 25~50 hours, use oil pump(Autolub) only.
But you must make sure the oil pump function is work and well first.
if oil pump is work well,it is reliability design, don't worry.

On my side, I am not happy with the auto lub system. The pump always blocks on maximum oil flow (full throttle) because the cable which comands the oil pump is a bit hard, ,so the spring of the pump is not strong enough to pull the cable back when I reduce gaz . I changed the cables, but I could never fix this issue. And I realise that many pilots decided to remove the auto lub system due to their poor confidence in it ........It is noticeable that you can easily bye a spcific part and joint, especialy designed to obturate the whole of the auto lub when you remove it ...... meaning that many pilots remove it !!!!
