With my new 582 blue head, we broke in the engine and noticed that on the EIS information that we were getting 24.5 volts and with a volt meter at the battery we were getting 13.4 volts. Why the difference?

    Hi James,

I don't know for sure without some more info, but my first impression is the way it's wired for the EMS or lose wire.

Sounds like its indicating the AC voltage going to the reg.

    Hi James,
When you check your batery's voltage with the meter is your engine runing? If not, I suspect the regulator may going bad and allow more voltage into the batery when the engine is running, I already ruin 2 bateries by overcharging all the time, I have noticed in many occasions my EIS to read 18+ volts but I did not pay attention,I haven't change the regulator yet but this is what I will do next if my 3nd battery goes bad.

Thanks for the information but it turned out that the battery connection was loose and it was a simple fix.
