Hello all,

i have installed shims on the cylinder heads.

they are 1.6mm thick

Can any one tell me what type of O rings to fit to prevent leakage from the pushrod casings.

With the increase in length the tubes don’t fit the o rings snug enough

Do I put an extra one on or just fit a larger O ring instead?

I would appreciate any suggestions

Thanks

    Hi Phil

I have never done what you have but would think the best way is to space the push rod tube out the same amount.  To maintain the O ring sealing integrity I would make 1.6 mm thick spacers for the top of each pushrod.  You have some room at the top and they are glued in with Loctite.  Once you fit the tube the space for the O ring at the bottom will then have the same compression and be able to seal correctly.  I am not sure how the increase in the pushrod spacing itself will work with the lifter, i trust you have checked that already.

You might find some 4130 chromoly tubing and make new pushrods with the longer length.  You could remove the ball ends as they are simply pressed into the ends of the tube.

    Cheers
