Good evening

I have a 912ULSFR serial number 4429801. I have done some digging and found it is a Uncertified French Authority specification. 100 hp (75 kW).

How is this different from a non French Authority spec engine. By the way it has blue cylinder head covers.

Thanks

Rotax produced an engine for the French market, where they faced either power output restrictions or noise regulations (the specific restriction isn't recalled). Rotax "derated" the engine to 90 hp by limiting the maximum allowable RPM to 5500 RPM instead of 5800 RPM and then installed blue valve covers.

The engine is capable of producing 100 hp if you adjust the unloaded prop pitch to reach 5800 RPM.
