How to Remove 912 Carb Heater
Does any one know how to remove this carb heater? The top allen was removed. There are two allens on the side but those are just plugs. It looks like some sore of epoxy was used.
Thanks
Gil

May have to apply more heat or heat for longer.
Could also try several heat/chill cycles - risk of causing a crack?

Normally these are bonded to the carb socket with a Loctite sealant, in that case the heat gun will work. You however must get the part up to at least 400 F or 200C for the Loctite to release. if however they used an epoxy you have a problem. Here is what the Loctite site says about that.

In the case of an epoxy it is going to be a struggle.
Good luck.

Thanks. It's probably the Loctite I see. It's a greenish maybe a hint of brownish color. I was just guessing that it was epoxy. Any idea which "Loctite" it was?
