912 Compensation Tube - Hoses

Are you referring to the carburettor/inlet manifold Balance Tube (usually aluminium with rubber hose on each end)?

On my  912 installation, the short piece of hose on each end of the Balance Tube, is only secured at the manifold end of each. This means that the hose must be a good tight fit (correct ID), so that the unsecured end of each will not leak.

I like Gates hose so would use a any suitable ID hose from this maker (likely fuel/oil).

Dont forget that the rubber hose is a diffrent length on each end of the Balance tube - the longer end allows for clamping when doing a carburettor balance.

Yea, I saw in the manual that only one end had clamps. Not sure why that is...maybe to make it easier to disconnect when balancing. Thanks.

My guess - they are just to secure the tight fitting hose in place ie they are not there to seal the hose..
