My 912 ULS just started doing this and I can’t find a reason for it. 1500 hr engine that runs great. My shut downs have always been the typical semi-abrupt Rotax shutdown. For the last week, about 8 shutdowns it has stopped with a real jolt. This is very uncharacteristic for this engine and all other Rotax that I have been around. Anyone have any thoughts what would cause this?

If you rotate the prop after an abrupt shutdown, does it feel like there is more friction than normal? If there is, could your engine be one of the ones that suffered from crankcase fretting? I think there was a Rotax SB converting the topic.
