I recently bought an original Rotax XL oil cooler (part number 886107) for my 912 Vz. Now that I'm trying to source the fittings to attach it to the 1/2 inch hose I wonder what the inside thread connection is? Please refer to the attached image. It's about 14 mm and I was able to turn a metric M14 screw in for a bit only but it is obviously not M14. Strange because I know the outside is M22. Any suggestions?

    Hi Till,

SI-PAC-014R1 indicates the oil cooler fitting internal thread is M14×1.5 (ISO metric fine series). The screw/bolt which you used to check the thread is probably M14×2.0 (ISO metric coarse series).

Conventionally a metric thread without a specific pitch called out can be assumed to be a coarse thread.

SI-PAC-013 lists all of the fittings available from Rotax to suit their oil cooler and oil tank. It also lists the applicable tightening torque for each fitting type.
