Has anyone seen or heard of running a 912 with carbs on backwards, ie. with carb mouths facing towards redrive? At first glance it seems this can be done by installing the intake manifolds 180 degrees around.

It shouldn't be possible as the throats on each end are different sizes and the intake side won't fit into the carb rubber socket.

    Thanks Roger,

Maybe I wasn't clear. I mean keeping the carbs on their respective sockets. Each intake manifold along with the carb would be rotated 180 degrees on a vertical axis passing through the midpoint between head intake ports. Carbs wouldn't even need to be removed, just the intake manifold unbolted and flipped.

    Hi Dino,

I don't personally know of any one that has done that so I can't actually answer that.
