Can anyone please tell me if the drainplug is M12x1.25, M12x1x5 or M12x1.75. I am ordering a drainvalve but dont want to remove the plug in the oiltank just to check. The Part manual only says M12x12mm

Thanks,
Thomas

I just installed one in a 912ULS from Aircraft Spruce which they advertise as 12mm x 1.75mm <http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/curtisquickdv47.php

I think it would be handy if every 912 oil filter came with a new crush gasket in the box. Sure would make maintenance a lot easier.

Hi, I am told there is no LOA for this, and that Rotax specifically prohibits there use, but the person who told me this did not know where in the manuals it says this. Is this true? If it is not, I would like to submit an LOA for their use.

Rotax does not authorize the quick drain type valve and because of that the SLSA Mfg's usually follow suit because the LSA MFG has to issue the LOA. LSA Mfg's rarely go against what Rotax says. I believe what you are looking for is in the SB's. If one company went against the other the LSA Mfg would then end up accepting all the liability and responsibility. Not many LSA Mfg's want to put their head on a chopping block for liability just for a drain valve.

Hi Roger, can you tell me which manual or SB the prohibition is in, and is there some reasoning behind it? So far I have gotten an, "I think it is in one of the Rotax manuals," and "I think it is in an SB."
