912 ULS ignition failure

    Finding some electrical ghost is hard, no doubt. We have all been there. Best advise I could give is open the Heavy maint manual and use it to trouble shoot and to give you all your electrical numbers. A good diagnostician when faced with a tough problem will start at "A", then "B", then "C" and so on until he reaches the end or finds the problem. I would start where everything begins and start testing wires and connections and continue through the system on its normal path. Bouncing around may take you ten times longer. There are some trouble shooting instructions on the web if you search and Rotax has a few out.

    Hello
    I had the same problem and after many checks it turned out that Because the starter is located on the far left of the panel, the insulation was touching the side of the of the starter and shorting it out. As soon as I put electrical tape on the insulation and the side of the starter the problem was solved. Hope this helps

    Regarding coil problems. FWIW we have a situation (symptoms different than this thread) but bears on coil failures. Short version is when, and only when, engine is hot left mag check fails, and generally idles rough. We suspect a coil that's dying and heat sensitive. See this youtube:.

    If nothing else it can be helpful in how you diagnose a flaky coil.
