Call Lockwood Aviation Supply, (800)527-6829. Ask for the new style ignition modules with soft start. Also, if you need it (I did), ask for them to include the required wire. An included wiring diagram will show you how to run the extra wire. It is really simple. Good luck.

It might be a good idea to send them your modules for a bench test.

    Manuel,

You can also find the instructions for wiring the soft start in the installation manual. Click on manuals under the support tab at the top of this page. Like Alan said, it's an easy wiring job.

Yoy're going to love the soft start feature.

    Bill.

    Hi Manuel,

If you are replacing two 6 pin ignition modules it should be plug and play up to a point. The ignition module connectors each have one pin slot open. You need to put a wire into each of these with the correct pin crimped on the end and run it down to your starter solenoid and connect it with the smaller wire in the middle. That's about as simple as I can get with the explanation. The installation manual should give you more instruction and I would read about it beforehand. To get the full advantage of the soft start system you would also need to replace the flywheel.

    Hi Manuel.
I am having the same problem like you with my Rotax 912 ULS, and also I can solve it by warming the ignition modules with a hair dryer.
Before buying new modules I am trying the following:
I have installed a "15W 12V 50x100mm Waterproof Silicon Heater Pad" controlled with a " Digital LED Temperature Controller PID Thermostat Meter with NTC Sensor Temperature Probe Cooling & Heating 2 Relays Output STC-1000" and I hope this installation solves the problem. I will report for news.

Heating or cooling the ignition modules isn't a fix. You have a bad starting circuit within the module that needs to be replaced. One day it will totally fail and that day shouldn't be too far off.
