Hi Roger, I didn't say anything at first about my credentials. Should have. At this time I have done nothing but verify the fluctuations. Now it is a matter of correcting the problem. After looking at the video I'm leaning towards the valve P/N 857-230 instead of the check ball along with a new spring retaining plug P/N 841-983. I assume the popoff valve P/N 857-230 would be better than the ball. What is your thought?

I have not had the opportunity to request any warranty work and still wonder if the way the systems works I can do the warranty work.

    Thanks,

    Dick

    Hi Dick,

I have installed at least 40 of those new cap plugs, springs and mushroom (aka oil pressure regulator cone) It has helped many. Didn't change much on the guys that already had good pressure, but the guys with low pressure or fluctuating pressure it did. I have heard there have been a few that it didn't help. This would be my first thing to try, plus if you qualify it might help get you the extended 2000 hr. TBO. Cost for the 3 parts is around $70.

YThanks, My engine is a 2010 model in a ne PiperSport. It has a 2000TBO. If needed I'll talk to Eric but with less than 100 hours on the new engine I would think the parts would be covered under warranty.

    Thanks,

    Dick

    Hi Dick,

With a 2010 engine it should already have the new parts along with that 2000 hr. TBO. Any problems identified with only 100 hrs and a 2010 will be covered under warranty.

We have seen this very same issue many times. Pressure indication is fluctuating around the minimum. The solution we have seen to work is to stretch the spring of the relief valve just a bit. After that we get the presure indication in the middle of the green arc.
