Take out your slow running jet and see if it is blocked. Clean it with a strand of copper wire to make sure it is clear and give it a good blow out.

The plugs can look black quite quickly if you have just done some ground runs and not flown it.

    Hi Avvod,

Is this a 912 UL or ULS?
Your idle shouldn't be down in the 1400 or 1500's. You're better off up around 1700-1800. If the plugs are black dry soot then that is from too much low idle. That can be normal. If you run the engine up at higher rpms like when in cruise that black dry soot goes away. Don't judge your plugs color after sitting at idle for a while.
If you are idling down around 1400 it probably does feel rough.

    p.s.
Make sure the mixture screw on the bottom of the carb is set at 1.5 turns out.

    Hi Avvod,

It's a good engine. You just need to find someone close that knows a little more about the Rotax if possible. I would bet your issue is something simple and many times issues are just that simple problems, but people tend to look in the wrong place and sometimes it's just a matter of diagnosing and ruling out a few things.

Did it sync at idle and at what rpm? The bottom line idle rpm is important. Is this engine a 912 UL or ULS and what is the idle rpm?
