Thought I’d maybe seen discussed here a cabin heater system for912 based on a shroud around the muffler (or maybe it was a shroud around the exhaust pipe just past the muffler.

Maybe even some here using it already. IIRR it involved replacing the whole muffler, or maybe the whole exhaust system, so at the time I first heard of it I ruled it out as I couldn’t see my way to replacing a whole “perfectly good” (or so I thought) exhaust or muffler to add a cockpit heat source. But we may be looking at replacing the muffler (more on that in a separate post later) so it might an opportunity to do that.

Anybody direct me to THAT product? Any experience using it?

Skytek has a nice heat muff. It is for the 912iS muffler but I believe that is the same dimension as the 912 muffler.

If you're looking for significant heat, the exhaust method might not do a very good job (i.e. in a drafty cockpit, or below freezing temps). I've flown behind ELSA 912's with an automotive style radiator core with a built in fan... Basically they pipe into the liquid cooling system of the engine, route into the cabin, and connect to the heater. These work great and provide more heat than you need. The one I recall is called Mojave.

    Best of luck!
