16 months dormant engine-purge?

The 912 80hp engine has been dormant for 18 months. Rotax are famous for long storage capability but, even if the engine hasn't been opened up for oil service, should I purge the oil system to ensure proper oil levels in the pump etc. Ive heard of needing to prime a pump that may have drained over time. I have a post about the oil temp sensor on this motor as well, but that may be a non issue as I found corrosion on the ground connectors for the instruments and cleaned all. So I still haven't "opened" the system. :unsure:
