Interesting, it also happened to us. We did the same, cleaned the ball valve just in case and purged the engine after oil change also without starting engine yet. After three days, turbo leaks a lot of oil. I suspect that if the check valve is opened, then the engine should be run afterwards, to ensure that the ball is properly seated?
