I had a similar adventure with my 914, flew for hours the dau before, just felt I did not have enough power. After resding this article I took the servo apart and found that, the motor gets shorted and it will melt the impeller guide causing the motor to bind against the wall.
ordered a new part as this one is totaly toasted. Another issue I found is that once the motor gets hot the hrease imside will melt causing the motor to act normal wile cooking in its own sauce.. giving the impression that there is with fuel.

    Eric.
A few months ago I had one cease at the 8 oclock position, 180 hrs since new. It also failed the resistence check outlined in the maintenence manual.
Fitted a new one & the last 100 hours have been trouble free.
