2 cylinder removed and reinstalled for hardness testing possible over temp. Carbs set mechanically sync complied with idle rpm 1750. At powder on the ground (WOT) only able to achieve 4400 rpm. Pitch angle set to the manufacture pitch useing prop rig pin and manufacture says this engine and prop combination should achieve 4950 rpm at take-off on the ground

One option from a very good source recommends checking key ignition switch. Evidently some history there and will get on that with an OHM meter tomorrow. Wondering if anyone has other possible causes in mind or experience with similar problems.

First time useing forum so ask for details I ma have left out

    Hi Michael,

Answers these questions to yourself. Compression test good, carbs synced, mag drop check good, air filters clean, plugs gapped between .023-.027, throttle opens fully in the cockpit and at the carb and if you have it good fuel pressure.?

If all are okay then reset the prop pitch to get your 4900 rpm on the ground. Then go fly it and see what the WOT rpm is and then set the pitch one more time for its fine tuning.
