I've got a Just Super STOL with the 912 ULS with an aftermarket Billy Hawk Turbo & Wiseco Pistons built by Ronnie @ Mississippi Light Sport. I have about 125 hours on the engine and have run it within limits and regularly changed the oil every 25 hours.

I smell a slight "burnt oil" aroma sometimes at climb out/hard rotation and on a rough landing... I also can smell this after shut down and can see slight smoke coming from the front of the cowl where the intake air filter is when wind conditions are calm... it is barely visible so I know that it's only a very slight amount.

I seem to be using oil at about a 1 quart every 20 hour rate... I spoke to the guys at Mississippi Light Sport and they told me to check the oil return lines to make sure the check valve ball wasn't stuck... it wasn't.

I guess a slight bit of oil is collecting in the turbo... is this normal and is it a problem that I need to be overly concerned with? The guys at MLS said it is a fairly normal occurrence and not anything to be overly concerned with...
