    Hi Barak,

5100 WOT in level flight is way over propped and it is possible this had lead to your problems. Some of the engines in your time period did get case fretting and weren't over pitched with the prop.
Between the prop and case fret this may be the reason you have a leak. I would hunt the leak down. Start with looking up on top of the engine on the right side of the seam. Look to see if there is a 2"-2.5" crack there. If not keep looking.
No matter what happens that prop pitch needs to be reset. You need to get at least 5500 WOT in level flight and a nice balanced rpm is better around 5600-5650.

Saying it is okay to fly with this issue is like walking out on a thin limb of a tree and praying it doesn't break. I have seen a number of people fly like this for a short time because some never knew the difference. This is one of those times you might get away with it for quite a while or MAYBE not. There is no way to say for sure so I think I won't walk out on the branch. There is a test in the manual to do, but if you can't hardly turn it, then it is probably past that mark. At some point the engine will need to come off. It's not a total loss as it has some value in parts.

Hi Roger, One last question please if you will..

is it possible to send over the engine to ROTAX for a replacement of the crankcase ?
I guess it will be cheaper then buying a new one .

    All the best,
    barak.
