Hi.
I'm still tracking wrong behavior of my oil press. Last move I did - I move pressure sensor to firewall and I checked system with mechanical gauge:

Oil starts to fluctuate up when its hot and I go under 2000rpm. When get's hotter fluctiation is bigger.
I changed already regulator screw, spring and ball to muschroom.

What can be? On cruise is ok but taxiing or approach its shaking...

    IMHO, I think that you are overly concerned about this fluctuation. It could be that a smaller orifice in the oil pressure gauge line might reduce these pressure fluctuations somewhat -- in the same way that the needle valves are used to reduce air pressure pulsations when balancing the carbs. I have seen such fluctuations on a number of new ROTAX 912 ULS engines that seem to run fine.

    I do see fluctuations all the time. Maybe not this big. You may not be able to fix it and it may not need to be fixed. Each engine is a tad different on their actual numbers. It's not necessarily the exact number so long as it falls within a range. You can either try what David suggest with a small orifice or swap out your oil pump under the gearbox with someone else's and see if the problem stays or goes. It's possible it may go.

    You never know.

    Hi. You say that if it's in safe range it makes no harm to engine? I'm not really fixed to have everything super nice looking here, I'm tracking problem only because I want avoid damage of engine..

    So, today I put back ball and there is even more fluctiations. I have to move back to piston again. I had this oil pump opened a few months ago to change thread from NPT to M10 and I inspected it carefully. Was looking ok inside... No idea.
