Hey all,

So my Rotax 912 ULS has a 15 year TBO and I am trying to find out when the TBO anniversary actually is. The motor itself has a manufacture date of 2006, but the aircraft itself has it's first logbook entry when it was run up by the importer in March of 2007.

So I am trying to work out when the actual TBO expires.

Any guidance would be awesome.

Cheers
John

Your TBO clock starts ticking on the "date of first operation"... (March 2007 in your case?)

( Refer to the Line Maintenance Manual, section 05-10-00 pg.5 )

One caveat is that the engine will require an inspection at an authorized ROTAX overhaul facility, if it is stored unused for more than 24 months after the date of manufacture.
(The engine should be put into service within 24 months of manufacture date!)

    Thanks for the reply.

The engine was never not operated for 24 months. The owner became unfit to fly, but constantly maintained the machine and ran it up regularly.

    Thanks again, much appreciated.
