    Hi guys,
    Wilhelm,
Glad to hear that fix worked. We have a 2017 914 in a Cavalon autogyro at KASH. I had exactly the same problem last week. The plane has 50 hours of perfect performance. I hadn't flown in three weeks and the engine started normally, ran smoothly ....taxied to runup. The engine was warm and at runup the rpms would not go past 3500. At 3500 the rpm would suddenly drop then briefly rev to 4000 and immediately drop again. Reducing throttle returned the rpms to a smooth running condition. I cycled the mags, number 2 fuel pump without any improvements. There were panel indicators during the runup and no obvious leaks when I put her back in the hangar. I am headed back to the the airport tomorrow to try again and I will check your solution. I will check the sealing surface and as I have a tank of av fuel on board at the moment, hope to see the leak if thats it.
Thanks for the good suggestion Rob

    Hi guys,
just to close this out on my case. It was a float bowl leak. I replaced the float bowl gasket twice with the green fiber gaskets(soaked before installation) and continued to have a leak. Use a rubber gasket from AS and problem solved. back running like new. Thanks again for the sharing the info
