K&P oil filter

What are your thoughts on the K&P oil filters good or bad? Thanks

    If you mean K&N they are good. They do breath easier than a paper one. I used to not believe that, but have proven that many times over through the years. It can help lower high EGT's at times to by easier breathing.

    The RV-12 community has been using dual K&N air filters on its 912 ULS engines with no problems. When using K&N air filters on your 912 be sure to apply the filter oil sparingly -- too much oil does not improve the filtration capability and could interfere with the internal workings of the Bing carbs (e.g., sticky pistons, etc.). I believe there is a good video on cleaning and re-oiling K&N filters on the Rotax-Owner site.

    ps -- Paper air filters can potentially break down if exposed to moisture over time.

    No it is a reusable oil filter it has a fine screen in it has a magnet in it as well aluminum housing you can take it apart clean it and check for engine parts in the filter. Not saying I mined the oe filters at all be nice to take it apart see if you are getting unusual ware with every oil change
