It is not unknown for ignition modules to develop a fault where they can no longer start the engine. Sometimes, heating the modules with a hair dryer will allow them to generate a spark. If this is the case you have 2 options: replace them with new ones, or send them to Carmo Electronics in the Netherlands for repair.

You might say how can this fault occur to both ignitions. Well, when it happens to the first one you don't notice because the engine starts on the other module and then when it is running at normal speed, the faulty ignition works correctly. It is not until the second unit develops the same fault that you then cannot start the engine. This is certainly not an uncommon fault in the UK as many owners have discovered including myself!

I prefer using ice over the module for approx. 30 minutes. Put some ice in a one gallon baggie and put it around the modules for 30 min. At the end of that time if it starts right up buy another pair of modules.

Hello everyone! Im new here and having the same problem with my engine, y suspect modules will do it, but, ¿ does anyone know what ac voltage output should i get on the red cables going to the modules while cranking? right now im getting 7 volts, just trying to eliminate magneto not sending enough voltage. thanks!!

set multimeter to AC volts, connect one probe to one red wire and other probe to ground.
For start-up RPM: ~300rpm-7v AC (all values approx)
If you have the engine running,
    500rpm-12v.
    1000rpm-20v,
    2000rpm-40v,
    3000rpm-60v,
    4000rpm-80v,
    5000rpm-100v.
    Repeat on other red wire.
