Typical Motor Oil expands ~4% per 100°F.

As an example, that means that 4 Quarts of Oil would expand the equivalent of 5 ounces with a 100°F (70° to 170°) temperature rise.

The difference between the MIN and MAX marks on the Oil Dip Stick is 7.5 ounces.
The Nominal Oil Level is in the Upper half of the Dip Stick indicator range on a COLD engine.
A freshly Burped HOT Engine may indicate an over-full condition.
This would be Normal and is to be expected.
