My 912ULS2 engine was made 12/2010. Anyone know if I need just the mushroom piston or do I need a new spring and plug too?

Here is an easy way to look at it. First the old oil pressure plug was a 17mm hex-head and it was flat and gold colored. The newer style is aluminum colored 17mm hex-head and is indented (or hollowed out) in the center of the head. The spring is the same one, but if you are going to change the plug and or mushroom replace the spring. The ball bearing to the mushroom I think is a good idea, but is not a requirement. More a personal choice. Many that have had some fluctuations or low oil pressure have had some good results.
If you swap out the plug or ball bearing to the mushroom you should put a new spring in. They are only about $8.

The Mushroom Valve was created to resolve sporadic issues with Oil Pressure Fluctuations.
Are you having Oil Pressure issues?
