During my Kitfox 6 building project I noticed that my 912 ULS has a CHT port on every cylinder but the installation manual says that probes (temp senders) are only installed in cylinders 2 and 3. My engine is several years old and has never been installed or run yet. As a result, there are no EGT holes drilled in any of the exhaust pipes. I have a single analog gauge I want to use but it can only monitor one CHT and one EGT at a time (i plan to use a selector switch to catch them all). Does Rotax recommend monitoring all four CHTs and EGTs or just on cylinders 2 and 3? Or is this aircraft project specific or a builder option only?
