912 intake manifold carb synch bolt

Call Lockwood Aviation they have the adapters. BTW I used to use the Carbmate it went out of calibration after a couple of years so I switched to the mechanical gauges and found they work much better.

I found it (the bolt, not the adapter) in the parts catalog, Fig 73-10-00 page 2 item 22, it is an M6 x 6 and also requires a “gasket” (probably a fiber washer).  I’ll call Lockwood tomorrow.

Just call them, that's where I purchased mine. They use a copper washer to seal. Ask for dean Vogel if you need too. Also just pinch off the rubber hose connecting the compensation tube during the synchronization process. Pinching off the hose is the ultimate test to see if the carbs are synchronized because they will be isolated.

I spoke with Dean last week, he told me how to disconnect the compensation tube without messing with the hex screws in the intake manifolds or the fuel connections, and I was able to do so. Completed my first carb balance this weekend with a carbmate using the very good information found here on this site. I found the process quite tedious but did get it done, no doubt subsequent efforts will get easier. 

Jim, could you elaborate on the instructions Dean gave you with regards to disconnecting the compensation tube?
