i just ordered part 893-115 from CPS plus two new throttle springs... thanks for all the advise on here. I love my rans s7 (short tail) and rotax 912uls, but, but..... I find it requires more maintenance and staying on top of crazy things like changing all good hoses and rubber, ect..... I have owned 5 or so planes... I had a citabria and this one and flew both to choose the one i kept. Fuel burn / speed, short landing won and I kept the rans... Now, I am thinking about selling and getting something with a Cont. or Lyc. It is just a KNOWN i can get help with.. I live in fly in community and there is one other rotax on a gyro here but its a 914 i think. I need a more experienced eye to help me look over this thing. It has never let me down. Flown all over W and S texas on a trip. but i just feel i can't keep up with it and don't have a mechanic or shop near me to help.
If any of you are planning to attend the Texas STol comp.. coming up next month look me up. I am trying to get it back in the air.. n612TJ
thanks for listening all and helping..

Did you install a fuel return line to your tank when you put your new fuel pump on?
You should only use the latest manuals when working on your airplane so you have the latest information.
It might be a good idea to fly your airplane to a Rotax service center and have them look at it. The Rotax engine is a very good engine and only needs regular maintenance no more than any other engine.
The fact that you have to do MORE maintenance means the engine and airplane may have been neglected for a while and like anything that is neglected, it needs some freshening up!
You should look at taking a Rotax Service course also so you can do a lot of the maintenance things yourself! https://www.rotax-owner.com/en/education-5/rotax-training

there is NO fuel return line on my plane.. it is an earlier "short tail" Rans S7. Per the plans then it has fuel lines from the wing tanks into a y to an on/off valve to firewall to engine fuel pump to splitter to each carb... The PO did add the electric fuel pump under passenger seat as a back up i guess.. i won't run it unless on take off. I have really decided not to run it at all.

The current Rotax 912 installation manual mandates a fuel return line to a fuel tank, and an electric boost pump as well.
