Copper Nuts Exhaust Flanges

I have loosened and tightened those nuts a couple of times over the years when changing the exhaust systems and never had a problem. I also know someone that reused old nuts and the pipe vibrated in the exhaust socket in the head and wore a hole into the water jacket. Just keep an eye on it if you reuse, or buy new ones for peace of mind. 

You won't need to take them off just loosen them. Move the exhaust over a bit and then re-torque them. I've done it many times.
