Cowling Katana

Hello Michel

Rotax made a change to the cooling circuit of the 912S3-01 and the temperature probe is now in a reading coolant temperature instead of the material temperature of the cylinder head. With that said, we do not know how this change in the cylinder head has to do with the Katana cowling and you need to contact Katana to ask them what is required.

We are aware of a major modification needed to the Katana cowling in regards to cooling, but we don't know all the details and if it has anything to do with the change of the engine (912S3-01).

You will have to contact Diamond and get more details from them regarding the cowling modification as they are the ones who initiated this change. We are not aware of any other airframe manufacture requiring a change to engine cowling due to the change in the cylinder head (912S3-01)
