If you forget to burp before you drain the oil tank, all you need to do is disconnect (at the oil tank) the oil hose from the bottom of the crankcase and let it dangle down into a pan until the residual oil in the crankcase is drained. DO NOT TURN THE PROP. Then reconnect it and continue with your oil change. This will not introduce air into the system as long as you don't turn the prop or disconnect the oil OUTLET hose from the tank.

I already burped it, so I'm going to try what Bill said and crank it with the mags off to make sure the oil pressure comes right up.

Get a remote starter used by auto mechanics, under $10, and connect to the starter solenoid. Pull the spark plugs out on top, push the button and spin till you get oil pressure. Works great.

A point of reference ...
The 912ULS Oil Pump reportedly moves about 3ml of Oil per revolution.
If you turned it 3 Prop Revs, That would be about 8 Crank revs or 4 Cam revs.
The Oil pump is on the Cam Shaft so 4 revs moved about 12ml. Less than 1/2 ounce.
If that sounds small, it is, and the reason NOT to worry.
You will be introducing more air than that just refilling the Suction Pipe in the Oil Tank.
And Way more air will be in the New Oil Filter even if you pre-fill it and try to quickly get it on sideways.
All this induced air will be long gone 5 seconds after the engine starts.

Consider an engine idling near 2000 rpm. 1000 Cam RPMs. 3000ml (3L) per minute at idle.
That is the entire Oil Tank every minute.
At 5000 rpm that would be the entire Oil Tank every 12 seconds.
Blow a hose, and you will be out of Oil very quickly.

Thanks, Bill, I’m not going to sweat it.
