Minor problem quickly solved and aircraft running as normal again.

If it sounds like it is trying to fire then it is more likely to be a fuel problem than an ignition problem. If you drop the float bowls do they have fuel up to about 13mm below the top?

Is the choke mechanism operating correctly on both carbs?

You could always pull a spark plug and see if there's a spark when you crank the engine. Make sure you chock the aircraft and have someone in the cockpit covering the brakes and the ignition switch in case it fires.
