Good to hear someone else cleaned in place. I hope not to find much residue as well since I've run Mogas except for the less than 30 hours during a 3 weeks period when I bought the airplane in FL and flew back to CO.
Merry Christmas

Does anyone know if it is possible the purchase the 912 oil tank separately from the other parts? That'd be part #1 on this page (https://www.leadingedgeairfoils.com/rotax-engines-parts/genuine-rotax-parts/4-stroke-parts-912-914-series/912-914-series-parts/oil-systems/912-914-oil-tank.html), but it seems to be the only part that is not available by itself. I believe I've used too much force and stripped the tank threads of the oil drain bolt...

hi Daniel
you need to know what stripped, the bolt or the tread in the tank. if it needs a new tank then you have to take a lot of spare parts that may not be needed. Perhaps call a few of the service centers and look for a used tank.
Cheers

I'd take the tank to a welding shop and have a new drain bung fabricated and installed. If you're in the Pacific NW or willing to ship your tank, I would recommend that you call Steve Furjesi (fur-jessi) at Experimental Aircraft Metal Fabrication. He makes a lot of the engine mounts for one of the big kit manufacturers, and I've had him do some welding on my Kitfox frame. He does beautiful work.
