Thanks Roger -
A few points:
My aircraft is in the experimental category, so I am not limited to either certified or factory approved components. This is a deliberate choice by me, so I have no intention of just purchasing whatever hose my local Rotax dealership stocks (FYI - Conti-M4M).
My local Rotax dealership has chosen to charge about X4 times the cost for "their" hose, above the next most expensive hose from Gates.
Having used Gates fuel & coolant hose for the last 10 + years and been happy with the quality, I am now considering adding oil/hydraulic hose to the list but being a cautious sort of person, I am seeking constructive comment from my peers (this is where you come in).
The Gates GTH-8 (I think the 8 refers to 12mm/1/2") seems to meet/exceed the Rotax specifications and the specifications for Conti-M4M originally supplied with the engine, except for bend radius. I believe the greater bend radius, of the GTH, can be accommodated in my application.
Conti M4M is not available in Australia, other than through the Rotax dealership.
Other contenders for my dollar ; - FC598-08 Eaton Aeroquip, not available until April. Pirtek LPHT, a larger OD & heavier hose with greater bend radius, than GTH . Gates G3H-8, a larger OD & heavier hose than with greater bend radius, GTH.
I would be grateful for your constructive assessment of Gates GTH-8 hose in the application of oil transfer in a Rotax 912 ULS.

I did look at the gates GTH-8 hose and it looks okay.

Thanks Roger - always good to get feedback when contemplating even a small departure from the tied & true.
