This is my first oil analysis since I’ve owned the plane.  I don’t have records of previous.  This 914 has 811hrs and seem to have no issues. How does this look for what you have seen?

The high iron sounds worthy of checking out.

My question is it high for a rotax or what’s the specs for normal from others?

There was a post in the past in the 912 forum where a guy was saying his lab told him his was high at 60.  90 seems high to me be not an expert on oil analysis. Did you cut your filter?

You may be approaching the time for gearbox service if not done already. Prolonging the inspection could cost you dearly for parts. The engine was running smooth before I had a propeller hub failure so I had my 914 gearbox done at 825hrs and it turned out it was needed. Lockwood turned it out in one day.

    Dave -

One oil analysis is not usually considered sufficient to make a definitive diagnosis of your engines "health".

To get the best benefit from oil analysis, testing should be conducted over the life (or at least a significant part of it) of the engine, at the same in service interval (hrs), using as close as possible the same technique, to take each sample.

The analyser must also have as much pertinent information as possible about the aircrafts operating environment as possible eg private / training flights, type of fuel & oil used (be notified of any changes), any fuel/oil additives, geographic location of the aircraft.

With reference to your magnetic plug photo - The photo is almost meaningless, as you have not washed off the excess oil, so that just the ferrous/iron material is left. This can be done with a number of solvents eg diesel / petrol / carburettor cleaner / etc
