Engine: 912ULS installed in Sportcruiser (2010); 380 hrs.

Problem: After starting and warm up (10 mins), engine was shutdown normally. The aircraft was refueled and restarted. During mag check (at 3400 rpm), the engine stopped abruptly.

Mag check sequence: The ignition key was turned from both to R (for a few seconds) and back to both. The usual, 50-75 rpm drop was observed. Next, it was turned from both to L (for a few seconds)and back to both. Immediately, the engine stopped running.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

If the engine stopped abruptly with no stumbling or rough running, then I suspect an ignition system issue.  The last thing touched was the ignition switch. Have you checked the ignition switch? If it was manufactured by ACS, was the relay diode modification completed and documented?

Jim, thanks. It does seem like the ignition switch is the first place to look. The switch is ACS A510-2. It has not been touched since installed in 2009 (380 hrs). I have just downloaded ACS SB92-01, but I can't work out if it's applicable. A diode was installed across the starter relay during build.
