I have now seen this 3-4 times. I'm not sure if it's a factory item with not enough torque? I have found these, but before they fully lost the plug. I now put some Loctite 243 Blue medium strength on the threads. No issues since. I know of another Rotax mechanic that has seen 1-2 too.

All...go look at SI published for external drive.
SI-PAC-023
You will find instructions torque values in that release.

All, as one other note. Crankcase seal leaks may also be from a crankcase with excessive pressure. This can be caused by a partial blockage of the return line from the crankcase to the oil tank. Check your crankcase pressure as per the installation manual for your engine type.

I haven't seen any leaks with the plug fully seated and torqued, but have seen the plug work its way out. That was a factory isse then because these were all short time engines. It doesn't seem to be that uncommon from what I hear from owners. That's why now when I re-torque them in place I use a tad of Loctite 243.
